The Zimbabwe national Under-23 football team coach Callisto Pasuwa is optimistic that the Young Warriors can spring an upset when they clash with Cameroon in an All-Africa Games qualifier slated for Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.Pasuwa said he is happy with the current players in camp despite some of the players called for national duty from international clubs not being able to make it.
“I’m confident in the players currently in camp. We did not manage to get all the players we wanted with most of our international players being denied permission to leave their clubs because the match is not on the Fifa calendar,” said Pasuwa.
Mamelodi Sundowns winger Kudakwashe Mahachi had been called up for the Cameroon encounter but his club is unlikely to release him as the All-Africa Games qualifiers are not on the Fifa calendar.

The Young Warriors technical department has underlined the importance of capitalising on home advantage in Sunday’s match.
Pasuwa said all the players who had travelled to fulfil their club matches over the weekend have returned and attended training yesterday.
“Some players had to leave camp to fulfil some club fixtures over the weekend but most of them have since returned and attended training,” he said.
