A quarter basketball mad South African nation will be given the opportunity to experience some NBA action courtesy of an exhibition match that is being planned for August 2015. South Africa once played host to the NBA in 2003 when the professionals held a camp. PILSEN/KLATOVY, Czech Republic (2014 FIBA U17 World Championship for Women) - The 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship for Women came to a dramatic conclusion in Pilsen on Sunday, with the two-time defending champions USA claiming a dramatic 77-75 win over Spain to hold on to their title. Spain's Angela Salvadores did her best to put an end to the Americans' reign with a monumental 40-point effort, but Lauren Cox and Asia Durr stepped up for the Americas, who claimed a third consecutive U17 Women crown. It was obvious LeBron James of the Miami Heat was determined and desperate as he and the Miami Heat came out of the gates guns blazing as they took it to the San Antonio Spurs early in Game 5 to stave off elimination. But in a game where you have to play for 4 quarters, the race is not for the swift but rather the one with endurance and the will to fight to the end and that is exactly what the San Antonio Spurs are. The Spurs were able to outlast the Heat with their first quarter burst of scoring and eventually turned the tables to beat them by a score of 104 – 87 and win their 5th Franchise NBA Championships Title. |
