Multinational technology company IBM has renewed its sponsorship of the US Open tennis event and has launched its Watson Media platform at this year’s edition of the grand slam tournament to enhance broadcast coverage.
The length of the new agreement was not disclosed but the VentureBeat website reported that IBM has signed a five-year deal with the United States Tennis Association, which organises the tournament.

Monster Energy has been announced as the title sponsor of this year’s AUS-X Open, Australia’s largest supercross and motocross event, which is due to be staged in Sydney on 11th and 12th November.
The two-day competition will formally be known as the 2017 Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney. The deal will see the event’s logo turned from red to Monster’s trademark green, with the brand’s own logo positioned above. MTN Ghana Foundation has supported Hepatitis B screening and vaccination for over 300 persons in partnership with Okyeame Kwame Foundation at La Bawlaeshi in Accra.
The programme started with pre-test counseling done by doctors, followed by screening and vaccination. A total of 351 people were screened out of which 301 were vaccinated against Hepatitis B disease. There was also post-test counselling by doctors from the Ghana Health Services. ![]()

Econet Media will bring International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) competitions to its Kwesé TV platform in sub-Saharan Africa from 2018, having reached an exclusive agreement with ESPN, who were representing the IAAF. The six-year deal, brokered by ESPN’s Media Distribution unit, begins on 1 January 2018 with Kwesé TV becoming the exclusive broadcaster for IAAF events and content in sub-Saharan Africa, these will feature across its free-to-air and pay TV channels as well as the new Kwesé Play service.
