PETERSBURG, FL, USA – The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced today that Caroline Wozniacki has qualified for the 2017 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, set to take place from October 22-29, 2017. The Dane joins Garbiñe Muguruza, Simona Halep, Karolina Pliskova, Elina Svitolina and Venus Williams in the singles field, with two more spots remaining.

Transportation app Uber has agreed sponsorship deals with Brazilian top-tier soccer clubs Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro.

The separate deals will see Uber branding displayed within the number on the back of Atlético Mineiro’s shirts, and on the front of Cruzeiro’s shorts.

​USM Alger of Algeria and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco drew 0-0 Friday in a drab CAF Champions League semi-final first leg in Algiers. 

A typically cagey north African showdown produced barely any scoring chances for a large crowd at the 80,000-seat Stade du 5 Juillet.
The match did nothing to enhance the reputation of the elite African club competition with an 80th-minute incident demonstrating the poverty of the football.

September 29, 2017 - Over 70 breaking aficionados have set a world record for the most simultaneous windmill moves completed in 30 seconds.

The windmill is a classic Hip Hop dance move in which the legs are lifted high in the air and twisted in a windmill pattern, while the torso and head rest against the floor. The world record for the most windmills – the most recognizable move in breaking – was completed simultaneously by the largest group of dancers aged between 15 and 50 years old.

The Formula One motor racing championship has agreed a three-year contract extension which will see Shanghai continue to host the Chinese Grand Prix through to 2020.

The 2017 Chinese GP, which took place from April 7-9 and was won by Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, was the last race under the previous contract, with the new deal set to run from 2018 to 2020.
