NEW YORK – Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum has received the February NBA Cares Community Assist Award presented by Kaiser Permanente in recognition of his continued efforts to mentor and provide educational resources to youth in Portland, the NBA announced today. The award recognizes an NBA player each month who best reflects the passion that the league and its players share for giving back to their communities.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has commissioned a wide-ranging review into player behaviour, the spirit in which the game is played and the Code of Conduct. The review, which will be led by the ICC Chief Executive David Richardson, will consult widely with the sport in contemporising the standards expected of player behaviour and developing a culture of respect.
It will focus on two things: firstly, the ICC Code of Conduct, reviewing the levels of offence based on seriousness, more clearly defining the conduct that will constitute each offence and reviewing the sanctions that should apply to the various offences. ![]()

The Ghana Football Association has introduced a new digital system aimed at addressing some of the challenges that have engulfed the Ghana Premier League.
The new system will see a departure from the manual filing of match reports to a digital one. Also pre-match meetings which usually serve as the avenue for match coordinators to inspect the jerseys of clubs has been replaced with a CMS that will showcase the colours of jerseys to be used by the clubs ahead of a particular game. ![]()

For the first time in Olympic history, Olympians who are also artists were invited to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 to be part of the Olympic Art project, an initiative of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Olympians used their talents to share a different view on the Games through the film Olympic Dreams and a one-of-a-kind painting. Greek-American long-distance athlete Alexi Pappas (Rio 2016), British javelin thrower Roald Bradstock (Los Angeles 1984 and Seoul 1988), American biathlete Lanny Barnes (Turin 2006) and Swiss fencer Jean-Blaise Evequoz (bronze medallist at Munich 1976) are the four “Olympian artists” who shared their creative spirit and craft in PyeongChang through two different projects: a short film, Olympic Dreams, and a collective painting revealing the Olympic values. Lausanne, 28 March 2018 – The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is preparing to open an ad hoc Division to resolve any legal disputes arising during the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (the Games).
It is the sixth time since 1998 that CAS has created such a structure for the Commonwealth Games which will provide participants with free access to dispute resolution services conducted within a timeframe consistent with the competition schedule. ![]()
A novelty monthly boxing league to promote local boxing, nurture and grow talents in the sport will begin at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra on March 31.
