KIGALI (FIBA AfroBasket 2017) - Rwanda's small forward Olivier Shyaka can't wait to make his second FIBA AfroBasket appearance in August.

As FIBA Africa confirmed Rwanda as one of the two wild card recipients for this summer's FIBA AfroBasket, in Kigali, 21-year-old Shyaka celebrated a "chance of competing against Africa's best."

Uganda’s youngster Robert Chemonges is the winner of the 15th METRO Marathon Duesseldorf with a personal best. The 19 year-old clocked a fine 2:10:31 in windy conditions, which should secure qualification for the World Championships’ marathon in London this summer. Norway’s Weldu Gebretsadik took second with 2:11:16 and also qualified for London while Yared Shegumo of Poland was third. The runner-up from the European Championships in Zurich 2014 clocked 2:12:33.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has signed a five-year partnership deal with energy solutions company, Aiteo Group, valued at N2.5bn.
