NEW YORK – Fan voting for the 2017-18 Seasonlong NBA Cares Community Assist Award presented by Kaiser Permanente will begin on social media today at 12 p.m. ET and conclude on Sunday, May 6 at 11:59 p.m. ET, the NBA announced today. Chosen by fans and an NBA executive panel, the seasonlong winner will be announced at the 2018 NBA Awards presented by Kia on Monday, June 25 (9 p.m. ET, TNT) from historic Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

Host Liberia and Cote d’Ivoire eased into the semis of the ongoing WAFU ‘A’ U-20 tournament after convincing wins in the ultimate Group A matches on Saturday.
Liberia beat Sierra Leone 5-1 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium whilst Cote d’Ivoire edged Guinea Bissau 4-0 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Stadium at the both in Monrovia. The Ivorians topped the group with nine points, Liberia on six, with Sierra Leone and Guinea Bissau in that order on three and zero point respectively. ![]()

Monday, 30th April 2018 – Lausanne, Switzerland: Following the review of the International Boxing Association’s Corrective Action Repot (CAR), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) concluded that all non-conformities based on the CAR have been addressed appropriately by AIBA.
With a new leadership in place, AIBA has been working hard in bringing positive change and further improvements to its anti-doping system. After outsourcing the management of its anti-doping programme, AIBA is pleased to confirm that it will join the Independent Testing Authority as soon as it is up and running, with an anticipated date of June 2018. ![]()

Ethiopians world-class runners dominated the Haspa Marathon Hamburg, taking all three places on the podium: Solomon Deksisa won with 2:06:34, the third fastest time ever in Hamburg. Debutant Tadu Abate took second with 2:06:54 while Ayele Abshero was third in 2:07:19. Kenya’s Solomon Yego finished fourth with 2:07:37 while the 2012 Olympic Champion Stephen Kiprotich of Uganda, was fifth in 2:07:57. Volha Mazuronak produced the top performance at the METRO Marathon Düsseldorf as the Belorussian athlete ran a women's course record of 2:25:25. Mazuronak, the top European finisher in fifth place in the 2016 Olympic Marathon in Rio, dominated the race. The German runner Fabienne Amrhein was a surprise second placer, improving her best to 2:32:35. Her personal best was inside the team qualifying time for the European Championships in Berlin this summer. The Kenyan Rose Maru finished third in 2:33:55 with last year's women's champion Doroteia Peixoto Alves of Portugal fourth in 2:35:15. ![]()
