Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) was the most excited person at the D.G Hathiramani Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium where the 9th African Armwrestling Championship was held as Ghana bagged the most medals and won the event.

​Primeiro Agosto of Angola snatched a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Zesco United of Zambia in Luanda Friday and boosted their chances of reaching the CAF Champions League quarter-finals. 

Substitute Hermenegildo 'Geraldo' Bartolomeu levelled for the hosts in the 90th minute and Muselenge 'Bobo' Ungenda won the match with a goal eight minutes into stoppage time. 
 
John Ching'andu had put 2016 Champions League semi-finalists Zesco ahead on 67 minutes at the 50,000-capacity national stadium in the Angolan capital.

South Africa and Angola will do battle in Sunday’s final of the 2018 COSAFA Under-17 Championships and seek a qualification place in the African Under-17 Championships set for next year in Tanzania.

The pair were comfortable winners in their semifinals on Friday, with South Africa disposing of hosts Mauritius 2-0 and Angola putting in an excellent second-half display to rout Namibia 7-0, the biggest victory of the tournament to date.
Motlhalosi Nare netted a fine opener for South Africa before the win was sealed late on when Mauritian defender Yohan Dupre put the ball into his own net.

​Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel became the first team to reach the quarters thanks to a 2-0 win over visiting Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland on Friday night in Sousse.
 
A goals in each half from Maher Hannachi and Slim Ben Belgacem was all the 2007 winners needed to seal their place at the knockout stage, having gone five points clear the top of Group D. After four games, Etoile has ten points, five more than second place Primeiro de Agosto of Angola. Swallows follow in that order on four points and Zesco of Zambia with two at the bottom.

​Primeiro de Agosto on Friday leapt to second place in dramatic fashion in Group D after rallying to down Zesco United 2-1 at Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.
 
The Angolans came from one-down after John Chingandu had put Zesco ahead after the hour mark to equalize in the last ten minutes and later snatched the winner in stoppage time. Star player Geraldo came off the bench in the 55th minute to score one and create the winner to elevate Agosto to five points and see Zambia’s Zesco  slump to the bottom on two points from four games.

IAAF approves the application of two Russian athletes to compete internationally as neutral athletes

The IAAF Doping Review Board has agreed that the applications of two Russian athletes have met the exceptional eligibility criteria to compete in international competition as neutral athletes in 2018 under competition Rule 22.1A(b) while the Russian national federation (RusAF) remains suspended.
​
In December 2017, the IAAF issued a simplified application process for 2017 Authorised Neutral Athletes to reapply for continued eligibility to compete in international competitions in 2018.

Sierra Leone veteran striker, Kei Kamara scoring a goal from the penalty spot was the decider to send his Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps to the final of the Canadian Championship for the first time since 2016.
 
A 2-0 Wednesday night win over Montreal Impact was enough for the Caps to advance to the tournament final on a 2-1 aggregate win after losing the first leg a week ago.
