The Atlas Lionesses of Morocco have eked out a victory against the 'Taegeuk Ladies'of South Korea by a Lone goal playing their hearts out to redeem themselves from their initial Group Stage game embarrassment where they lost by 6 goals to Germany as they subdue the South Koreans for their first ever world cup win.
At the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada Terence “Bud” Crawford dominated IBF, WBA, WBC champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr., ending the fight via stoppage at 2:23 of the ninth round of a scheduled 12 rounds. This one-sided fight was punctuated by Crawford securing three knockdowns, demonstrating his strategic brilliance.
In the first round Spence outworked Crawford. In the final seconds of the second round Crawford landed a left to the neck and a right on the chin dropping Spence for an 8-count from Referee Harvey Dock.

Two highly promising internationals who each won marathon titles this spring with impressive course records will be on the start line for the 40th anniversary edition of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon on October 29. Matea Parlov Kostro from Croatia is the European silver medallist for the distance who dominated the Hanover race earlier this year. Samwel Mailu is one of the rising talents from Kenya in the marathon. A year ago he finished second in Frankfurt and impressed in winning the Vienna title in April.
Taking into account events held in conjunction with the main event, organizers of the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon expect around 25,000 participants on the last Sunday in October. The event holds an Elite Road Race Label, awarded by World Athletics, the sport’s governing organization. Registration is still available at www.frankfurt-marathon.com 
Lausanne, Switzerland – The International Boxing Association (IBA) is pleased to announce the launch of two long-anticipated events, a team competition, the Global Boxing Cup, and a club tournament, the IBA Champions League. The IBA will welcome all athletes to participate in the competitions regardless of their National Federation status. This will also include both International Technical Officials (ITOs) and Referees and Judges (R&Js).

The prestigious CAF Awards will make a welcome return on 11 December 2023 in Morocco to celebrate the stars of African football.
After last year’s successful event hosted in the Moroccan capital of Rabat, which saw Senegal inspirational forward Sadio Mane and Nigeria and Barcelona top striker Asisat Oshoala claim honours, the CAF Awards will feature some of Africa’s finest stars. CAF will communicate time and host city in due course. 
FIFA has opened an invitation to tender (“ITT”) for the centralised media rights to all of the African qualifying matches, which will determine the African teams that will compete at the FIFA World Cup 26™.
An agreement was reached with all 54 member associations of CAF in August 2019, according to which the media rights to all African qualifiers for the 2022 and 2026 instalments of the FIFA World Cup™ would be managed by FIFA under a centralised sales model. The agreement also specifies that all profits generated will be distributed among the 54 member associations of CAF. |
