Maseru, Lesotho, April 8, 2015 – A refereeing course under the Volleyball Cooperation Programme was organised in Lesotho from March 18 to 22, supervised by FIVB Instructor Jacek Spisak from Poland.
The five-day course opened on March 18, with 23 participants – 6 women and 17 men – who were all welcomed at the opening ceremony by the representative of the Olympic Committee representative and the officials of the Lesotho Volleyball Federation.
At the end of the course, prominent people gave in support to the event and the organisers. The director of the Ministry of Youth, Sport & Recreation; as well as members of the press, Public Eye and The Post, and two radio stations, CR FM Radio and KEL Radio, were all present at the closing ceremony.
With the FIVB’s plan to develop volleyball in Lesotho, the instructor stressed the proper methods on training the referees and their approach on volleyball matches before, during and after the game.
