21 August 2018 - Ten Sports has moved quickly to secure the Indian sub-continent broadcast rights for the next Commonwealth Games which will be held on Australia’s Gold Coast from 4^th – 15^th April 2018.

As for the recent Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Ten Sports has acquired free-to-air and payTV subscription television rights, plus those for new media (incorporating Internet and mobile) and radio for the 2018 Commonwealth Games across a wide-ranging territory that includes India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

As part of the agreement, Ten Sports will work closely with terrestrial broadcasters in each of the above named territories  to ensure that all 17 Commonwealth Games sports are enjoyed by as many viewers as possible across the continent.

Announcing the agreement, the Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Games Federation, Mike Hooper, said:

“Ten Sports coverage of Glasgow 2014 on multiple channels, with day-long studio shows & comprehensive analysis, has received a lot of praise and contributed to increased viewership in the Indian sub-continent.

"This new agreement with Ten Sports reinforces this and them becoming another of our broadcast partners for 2018, as it does on the heels of the CGF’s partnership announced earlier this week with Australia’s Seven Network, is testament to how popular the Commonwealth Games brand has become across the world.

"It also demonstrates how the magic and excitement of the Games translates into immense value for broadcasters. Glasgow 2014 was a phenomenal success, and in 2018 the Gold Coast will deliver its own unique celebration to audiences around the globe."

Mr. Rajesh Sethi, Global CEO of Ten Sports, said:

“After the enormous success of Glasgow 2014, we are very happy to extend our partnership with the Commonwealth Games Federation for the 21^st edition of the Commonwealth Games to be held in Gold Coast, Australia. The ever-increasing Indian participation & success at these Games is very encouraging and we at Ten Sports will continue delivering the best of action from the 17 sporting disciplines in the coming years which will serve as great build up to the Commonwealth Games 2018.

"We would also like to take this opportunity to send the Organising Committee and the city of Gold Coast our very best wishes as they prepare to host another successful edition of the Games.”
