According to a correspondence signed by the Acting Director of Sports, Saidu B Mansaray, he informed the team manager that there will be no funding for both matches.
The Acting Director’s communiqué reads: “We received information from State House that there will be no funding for the two remaining matches against Ivory Coast and DR Congo to be played this November 2014. In this connection, you are to inform all the players concerned that the Ministry will not provide air ticket and appearance fees for the above matches.”
Upon receipt of the statement from the Acting Director, the team manager, Christian Dauda through his legal consultant Ibrahim Bangura duly informed players about the development and urged them to also not undergo any financial expenses ahead of the matches.
“We therefore inform you all not to undergo any finical expenses as we will not be in position to refund air tickets or pay match allowances and any other cost including accommodation.”
