The Sports Minister, Paul Kamara through the National Sports Council (NSC) has ordered the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) that the Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) must be reinstated immediately.
A letter signed by the NSC Acting Director of Sports, Saidu Mansaray on March 16th, stated that the decision to declare the SRFA as having resigned from the SLFA is subjective and should be withdrawn as it was not done in accordance with the SLFA constitution.
According to Mansaray, the Sports minister- who is the chairman of the council’s call - is in accordance with the NSC Act No.64 of 1964 which gives him the mandate to control sports in the country.
The Director further urges the SLFA to reinstate the SRFA chairman, Samuel Kamara as a member of the executive committee as per Art.32 (d) of the SLFA constitution.
That “Samuel Kamara, the regional chairman of the Southern Region Football Association be reinstated as a member of the SLFA Executive Committee as per Art.32 (d) of the constitution,” the letter reads.
