The Sierra Leone Minister of sports, Paul Kamara on Friday October 24th 2014 levied an indefinite ban on the Sierra Leone Football Association’s (SLFA) newly appointed technical staff with three other officials from the Football Association (FA).
In a press statement signed by the Minister, the national team coach, John Ajina Sesay together with his Assistant, Abdulai Kaloga and goalkeeper Coach-Tamba Moses were all banned from entering the Siaka Stevens Stadium with immediate effect.
The ban also includes the SLFA technical director, John Jebboh Sherrington, SLFA executive committee member-Badara Tarawallie and one Abdul Rahman Labay.

The release reads: “In connection with the CAF matches between Sierra Leone and Cameroon played in Yaoundé on the 11th and 15th October 2014, (the above named) officials of the SLFA who imposed themselves as officials of the Sierra Leone National Team, Leone Stars without the knowledge and approval of the Ministry of Sports are hereby banned from entering the Siaka Steven Stadium with immediate effect until further notice.”
The release further states that the action was as a result of earlier correspondence including a public notice that was addressed to SLFA to withdraw the seven officials they had appointed, not to take part in the arrangement of the match or interact with the team.
“The rules of fair play or match-fixing do not permit the exchange of finance or arrangement between two competing team and officials,” the release further reads.
