Awoko’s attack on the world’s governing body came just days after they (FIFA) rejected his nine-man interim body which was elected last month in an extra-ordinary tele-congress staged in Freetown.
In their reply, the FIFA General Secretary, Jerome Valcke stated that the Awoko interim executive is not recognized by FIFA adding that as a general principle FIFA only communicates with its member association and through the SLFA representatives which are its President, Isha Johansen and Secretary General Christopher Kamara.
“Art.17 par 3 of FIFA Statute talks about the membership and we are the bon-fide members of the SLFA, we own the SLFA and we have spoke and nothing will change our decision,” Sesay said in a determined mood.
He said: “FIFA’s position will not change anything and under the same Art.17 they are now violating the statute because their interference now is essentially a third party interference as this is an internal matter that must be resolved internally.”
The founder and owner of premier league club, Anti Drugs FC further stated that: “I will reply to FIFA accordingly and tell them to mind their business because we are club owners and know what suits us and what is affecting us, nothing will change our decision.”
