Decision to extend the sanction was unanimously agreed on, in a well-attended general meeting at the Sierra Leone Association of Journalist (SLAJ) Secretariat, Campbell Street in Freetown.
However, the decision could be reverted immediately if the SLFA tenders an apology to SWASAL for their refusal to include three Sports journalists in the official list of Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars delegation that travelled to Cameroon for their AFCON 2015 qualifiers.
Since the SWASAL membership took such decision three month back, SLFA are yet to make any official statement on the issue however certain officials within the football structure keep denying on social media that they played a role towards the journalists’ deportation.
In a related development, the Sports journalist body also agreed to take heavy actions against those who violated the association’s call on news blackout on the FA with the association president, Fajah Barrie branding them as ‘betrayers’.
