The Sierra Leone representative to the CAF competition; East End Lions have been drawn against Asante Kotoko of Ghana and the two sides are expected to come face to face on the weekend of 13th , 14th , and 15th of February 2014 with second leg clash scheduled for the 27th, 28th February and 1st March 2015.
The Secretary General of the East End Lions, Abdul Rahman Davies in a defiant mood said they will not be competing in the continental showpiece and refused to comment further.
In related development, other Premier League clubs have urged East End Lions not to partake in the competition because the 2013/14 Sierra Leone Premier League was an unfinished league.
The welfare officer of Ports Authority FC, Alhaji Magba said: “We as a club are against the dishonest move by the then SLFA executive to fill in Lions for the competition. I know Lions Will not participate and we are pleading to them not to do so because the current health situation is also another issue to be considered.”
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko has released their 24 man squad for the tournament and are set to forward it to the Ghana FA for onward submission to the Confederation of Africa Football.
