United Arab Emirates duo Salman Farooq and Mohammad Shahzad have been reported with suspected illegal bowling actions during the second One-Day International against Afghanistan, which the host side won by six wickets at the ICC Academy, Dubai on 30 November.
The match officials’ report, which was handed over to the Emirates Cricket Board Chief Executive, David East, cited concerns about the legality of the respective bowling actions.
Salman and Shahzad’s bowling actions will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. They are required to undergo testing within 21 days, and, during this period, both are permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known.
