The first step in this journey is to register, which can be done on the web page www.rio2016.com/tickets. Registration will allow participants to receive content on the programme and alerts including the key dates of the purchase phases.
"We will have a fair and transparent process, in line with the concept of 'Games for All', which is one of the pillars of Rio 2016," said Renato Ciuchini, Commercial Executive Director of the Rio 2016 Committee.
“Spectators will experience this journey like an athlete, preparing and going through stages until the glory of arriving at the Games,” said Rio 2016 Ticketing Director Donovan Ferreti. “With so many attractions, it is necessary to get organised early to ensure you don’t miss the best of the event.”
The sale of tickets to non-residents of Brazil will take place in a separate process. Countries will have an authorised reseller of tickets appointed by the relevant National Olympic Committee and Rio 2016 to work in the promotion, sale and distribution of tickets within a given territory. The list of authorized resellers will be available on the Rio 2016 website in March 2015.
Non-residents of Brazil are equally encouraged to sign up on the website from today to ensure that they receive the latest information about tickets as well as alerts for the key dates and contacts in the purchase process.
