Puerto Rico have now won three out of their four World Series of Boxing (WSB) matches this season, while the new Venezuelan Franchise have only picked up a victory in one of their bouts.
Jeyvier Cintrón Ocasio is one of the most exciting prospects in the entire Flyweight (52 kg) division, and he picked up his second win of the season against the previously undefeated Eduard Johan Bermúdez Salas, stopping his South American opponent in the first round.
Puerto Rican Lightweight (60 kg) Jose Rosario also picked up his second win in a row, this time in closer fashion when he beat Venezuelan debutant Fradimil Macayo via split decision.
With the match already in the bag for the Hurricanes, home favourite Light heavyweight (81 kg) Joseph Laboy lost on points to the 2-0 Albert Ramon Ramirez Duran.
The victories continued at Super heavyweight (91+ kg) however, as Clayton Laurent Jr defeated Edgar Ramon Munoz Mata on points.
Next week, Puerto Rico Hurricanes travel away to Astana Arlans Kazakhstan, while Caciques Venezuela are at home to Argentina Condors.
