Cairo, Egypt, March 31, 2015 - The 2015 CAVB Refereeing Seminar ended in success on Monday with 85 international and candidate referees performing well in their individual presentation for assigned rules.
CAVB President Dr. Amr Elwani was met and spoke with referees at the closing ceremony for more than two hours, exchanging ideas and allowing the referees to express their opinions on what improvements can be made.
Elwani encouraged referees to boost their performance and raise the sport’s global profile to a higher level. He also urged them to pass on their knowledge to their corresponding national federations and their zones through participation in national and zonal competitions.
"One of our major achievements in the last four years was the great increase in the number of female referees to reach 35 now. I'm happy to see 18 of them here making about 50 per cent of our total number."
