And this has sparked inspiration for actor Pius Ntabeni to produce a film that will not only be a biopic of the former skipper’s life but will also address gun violence in the country.
Speaking to Zalebs, Ntabeni revealed what his plans for the motion picture will be.
“We are afraid of being labelled as sell outs, I personally refuse to accept that seven months of Senzo’s death no one really knows what happened that night.”
Ntabeni has spoken to Senzo’s family about the film and even though they seem a little apprehensive, they have given their blessings while Kelly Khumalo’s camp has said if the movie portrays her in a defamatory manner then they will take legal action.
On the casting front, Atandwa Kani has shown interest in the film and may play the lead while Kuli Roberts may also be a part of the production because of her own painful history with guns – her cousin experienced gun violence during a hijacking.
The movie should be touching and we can’t wait to see it.
