Meyer was lauded for including the likes of flying Western Province wing Seabelo Senatla and Lions flanker Jaco Kriel.
“Seabelo’s speed is well known to anyone who has seen him play for the Blitzboks (South Africa Sevens team) this year and we would like to see if he can take another step up in the toughest circumstances ,” said Meyer.
Twenty nine of the 36 players named for the outgoing tour were part of the Rugby Championship squad while Kriel and Senatla will be joined by the uncapped Lions duo hooker Robbie Coetzee and prop Julian Redelinghuys and Western Province number 8 Nizaam Carr while prop Coenie Oosthuizen and flyhalf Johan Goosen have been recalled to the squad for the four Test tour.
