New York Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips extended his lead in the Budweiser Golden Boot race with two goals against the Montreal Impact on Saturday. The brace put him into the club’s history books having set the record for goals in a single season with 20. The record was previous held by Juan Pablo Angel who scored 19 goals in 2007. With ten regular season games to go, Wright-Phillips is also in serious contention to match and/or surpass the all-time MLS single season scoring record of 27 goals currently co-held by Roy Lassiter and Chris Wondolowski.
