Kenya's Erick Situma has been handed a permanent role as a Regional Development Officer with the body mandated to govern the game on the African continent, Rugby Africa. The former Kenyan international is also a respected coach, having guided Top Fry Nakuru to their maiden Kenya Cup title in 2013.
He currently serves as Head Coach at Resolution Impala Saracens, a club with which he won Kenya Cup titles over 10 years ago.
A statement on the Rugby Africa website read in part, " In 2013, Rugby Africa appointed three Regional Development Officers, namely Erick Situma, Mohamed Dermouni and Charles Yapo on a part time basis." Dermouni and Yapo have also landed permanent roles. Dermouni will take charge of Egypt, Libya, Tunisia,Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone and Cape Verde while Yapo will be in charge of Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Cameroon, Niger, Chad, Gabon, DR Congo, Congo and Guinea.

"Following their excellent work over the last year and a half, Rugby Africa then decided to commit them full time as of 1st January 2015."
