21 February 2015 – The South African National Under-17 Men’s team, Amajimbos, are on the verge of qualifying for their first ever FIFA Under-17 World Cup, but they have a huge obstacle to clear before realizing that dream.

Amajimbos face Cameroon in their final match of Group B of the CAF U/17 CAN on Sunday 22 February 2015, kick-off is scheduled for 16h30 (local time) at the General Seyni Kountche Stadium in Niamey, Niger.

The four nations that qualify for the semi-finals of this prestigious CAF U/17 CAN will cement the four spots reserved for Africa at the FIFA U/17 World Cup to be hosted by Chile later this year. Amajimbos currently sit third of the log with two points after two draws against Ivory Coast and Mali respectively.

To qualify for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, Amajimbos must beat Cameroon and hope that the other Group B match between Mali and Ivory Coast produces a winner. Both Mali and Ivory Coast are tied on four points.

“If we are to achieve our objective, this is a must win game. Our slogan coming here has always been – AMAJIMBOS – road to CHILE. We are fully aware of the challenges lying ahead of us. We have to overcome Cameroon who have nothing to lose coming into this match. We are very focused in delivering our mandate – Chile U/17 World Cup,” emphasized coach Molefi Ntseki.
