El Jadida, Morocco, April 19, 2015 – More than 350 Moroccan children were given the chance to work on their beach volleyball skills when the Morocco Volleyball Federation organised a Cool Volley Festival in the launching of African Dream Project.
The Beach event featured 24 teams of boys and girls, while the Cool Volley Festival featured 77 teams each of four players. Such was the interest in the event that Moroccan TV and three radio stations reported on it success.
“We want to send our great thanks to both FIVB and CAVB for their efforts to develop the sport from scratch in most of African countries,” Morocco Volleyball Federation president Ms Bouchra Hajij said.
"We are also happy for the media covering the events and showing the joy of the children playing their beloved sport, volleyball.”
The Project was conceived by FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° and began in most of African countries after it was approved by the CAVB Board of Administration. Its primary aim is to develop volleyball in schools and involves input from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sport, Ministry of Youth, and National Olympic Committee.
The project will feature centres being set up that will be used to identify and develop athletes from a young age and bring them through to the corresponding national youth teams.
