
The festival was attended by children from schools in the area who came to play volleyball for the day, with the Mayor of Sibiti also present to take in the action. A popular music festival was also organised around the event.
In all 420 people attended the festival comprising children, coaches as well as school and sport administrators. The volleyball action, which took place across eight courts installed in the city’s historic main square, was made all the more interesting with the colourful t-shirts worn by the participants.
Three television stations came from the capital Brazzaville to cover the event, which also received a great deal of attention from local and national radio stations who carried out live interviews.
