His addiction nearly resulted in the amputation of both of his arms, as his muscle had started to turn to ‘rock’, with the media dubbing him ‘Hulk’ after his mountainous biceps.
The former bodyguard said to Getty: “If you take it once there will definitely be a second time -- it’s addictive. I remember the doctor told me that they would need to amputate both arms -- they said everything in there, all my muscles, were rock. I want other people to see the dangers, I could have died all because I wanted bigger muscles. It’s just not worth it.”
His addiction took its toll on the relationship, when his wife Marisangela Marinho, 22, told him to choose between his addiction and their marriage.
“She told me that if I start using it again or anything like it she will leave me because of what she went through. That was the hardest part of our life because I had depression and I was removed from my job because I tried to kill myself.”
He had the ‘rocks’ removed from his arms and has overcome his addiction.
He is one of many to suffer from a filler addiction. In recent years, women have taken the cosmetic surgery fad further than before by injecting a combination of glue and cement into their buttocks.
