According to the report, Mdantsane veteran Ali Funeka’s trainer Dokes Sikonyela claims Limpopo fighter Tsiko Mulovedzi’s camp was allegedly seen with suspicious muti objects before his fight with his opponent on Friday in East London.
Sikonyela claims the muti spell Mulovedzi allegedly placed on Funeka caused Funeka’s eyes to glaze over every time he returned to his corner at the end of each round.
“I have never seen Ali looking like that,” the trainer told the paper. “His knees refused to support him and he still does not have a recollection of what happened there.”
Sikonyela said he had never believed in muti before “but now I know it exists and it is powerful.”
He alleged after the fight Funeka had to go Mulovedzi’s ante room “to ask him to come and shake Funeka’s hand so that the evil spirit on Ali [Funeka] can go away.”
It was only after they shook hands that Funeka recovered, said Sikonyela.
Mulovedzi has a record of seven losses and three draws in 22 fights, while Funeka is a veteran of 43 fights with only three losses.
