Beach volleyball has developed into one of the most viewed, visited and fastest growing Olympic sports. It has enjoyed similar growth in the Netherlands over the last 25 years and the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in the Hague, Amsterdam, Apeldoorn and Rotterdam are a symbol of the sport's expansion in the country.
‘In de ban van beachvolleybal’ (Under the spell of beach volleyball) contains stories about the roots and culture of beach volleyball, its image, growth and development. The history of the sport is told by the founders of the sport and its best players.
