Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been slammed by Barcelona legend Hristo Stoichkov, who has called the Dutchman as ‘garbage’.
Stoichkov played under the Red Devils manager at Barcelona, and was left desperately unimpressed by his tactics, holding him to blame for his early departure from the Camp Nou.
After five years with Bulgarian outfit CSKA Sofia, the 1994 Ballon d’Or winner became an integral part of Johan Cryuff’s ‘dream team‘, helping the Spanish giants to one of their most successful periods between 1991-1994.
Stoichkov played under the Red Devils manager at Barcelona, and was left desperately unimpressed by his tactics, holding him to blame for his early departure from the Camp Nou.

However, despite scoring 84 goals in two seasons at Barca, the arrival of Louis van Gaal signalled the end of his career with the club, and he does not look upon his spell under the former Netherlands boss with joy.
The forward said, “I have no respect for him, he’s garbage,” as quoted by CaughtOffside.
Nonetheless, he was full of praise for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, whom worked under the guidance of former Barca boss’ Sir Bobby Robson and then van Gaal in his early managerial days.
“Mourinho understood everything. He knew everything about our team, and our opponents,” he added.
