17 February 2014 - The South African Football Association (SAFA) would like to place it on record that Bafana Bafana’s opponents for the 28 March 2015 FIFA date will be announced soon.
SAFA would also like to refute reports that the South African Mens’s Senior National Team will play Australia on the aforementioned date as reported in some sections of the media.
“We want to place it officially on record that we are not playing Australia on that date. The Socceroos have another engagement in Europe around that time.
“We would also like to point out that, we had engaged both Argentina and Uruguay but they indicated they were pursuing alternative engagements,” said SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble.
SAFA will, in few days time, announce the opponents for Bafana Bafana and that match will be played on 28 March at a venue still to be announced.
