Stade Municipal Niamey
South Africa and Mali drew 2-2 in a pulsating CAFU17 championship group 'B' clash at the Stade Municipal as both sides kept alive their hopes of reaching the last four.
Sidiki Maiga gave Mali the half-time advantage as his 18th minute goal separated the two sides at the break.
Boubacar Traore grabbed his second tournament goal with a picturesque volley on the hour mark as Mali looked set to collect maximum points. But Amajimbos, who let go a two-goal in their opening match against defending champions Cote d'Ivoire, were architects of a come-back of their own this time.
Substitute Luvuyo Mkatshana pulled one back inside the box with 16 minutes remaining on the clock and six minutes later Katlego Mohame thundered home the equalizer.
The draw left Amajimbos on two points from two games while Mali moved to four from the same number of games.
