Mweene, who plays for South African top flight side Mamelodi Sundowns, hurt his groin in a 1-0 friendly defeat against Bafana Bafana on January 4.
But the Chipolopolo number one has quickly bounced back to fitness and took part in a friendly match against South African second tier side Witbank Spurs on Monday.
The game ended 2-0 to the Zambians, thanks to goals from Emmanuel Mayuka and Jackson Mwanza.
The team is expected on Tuesday to depart their training camp in Johannesburg for their base in Equatorial Guinea.
Zambia play Congo on January 18, followed by matches against Tunisia and Cape Verde.
