The 34-year-old marksman was unable to convince Janza that his form warranted a place in the final 23-man AFCON squad.
But like Kampamba Chintu did at the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa, Chamanga will travel with the squad as a mentor.
Janza explained that while the China-based Chamanga offers plenty off the field, he was not deemed to be suitable for an on-field contribution at the 2015 AFCON finals in Equatorial Guinea.
"When I said Chamanga carries intrinsic qualities that other people can’t see aside from on field work, that did not mean it was an obvious passport to the final 23. Everyone had to fight for a place in the final team.
