The Warriors of Zimbabwe look set to take on their Lesotho counterparts on Sunday in the first leg of the Orange African Nations Championship (CHAN) Rwanda 2016 qualifier at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
This is a crucial tie that the Warriors aspire to be victorious to entertain any chance of making it for the continental football showcase which will be hosted by Rwanda early next year.
Pasuwa has been taking the squad through their paces at Barbourfields and White City stadiums alongside his assistants, Nation Dube, Saul Chaminuka and goalkeepers coach Richard Tswatswa.
The Warriors trainer has said he was happy with the preparations towards the clash with Likuena.
Although optimistic on his team’s chances Warriors coach Pasuwa was however wary of Lesotho who he felt could pull surprises as they have been together as a unit for longer period.
“I am very optimistic that we will grind a victory, but we will never underrate Lesotho. We no longer have minors in football”, he told Cafonline.com.
Lesotho arrived in Bulawayo on Wednesday and are readying for the match, with coach Seephephe Matete eyeing an away goal against the Warriors.
“We are aware that Zimbabwe is an experienced side better than us, but in football anything can happen. We need an early goal and we will finish them off at home”, he said.
Zimbabwe will be aiming to complete a hat-trick of appearances at the tournament designed exclusively for footballers playing in their domestic leagues. The Warriors were semi-finalists at the last edition in South Africa in 2013.
