Sierra Leone attacking midfielder, Gibrilla Julius Woobay’s hopes of winning silverware this season were dashed away after his Neftchi side suffered 3-1 defeat to FC Qarabag on Wednesday in the Azerbaijan Cup.
Woobay’s was hoping to lift his third Azerbaijan Cup title and his second with the club after winning it for them during 2012/2013 season and is first came in 2010/2011 season while he was with Khazar Lankaran.
In an exclusive interview with Songahi Sports before the match, the former East End Lions man believed they can go on and lift the Cup title again for the second time in three seasons.

“This is our only hope for this season and we cannot let it go like that. Already FC Qarabag are the premier league champions we must not allow them to do the double against us,” Woobay said.
“No matter how hard it is I believe after the 90 minutes we will celebrate lift the title because we are determining to do so and pay our supporters back for their support throughout the season.”
