LAUSANNE (2015 FIBA 3x3 World Tour) - Team Vilnius (LTU) won the 2015 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Lausanne Masters after a thrilling final (17-13) against Trbovlje (SLO), who will join them at the World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi on 15-16 October.

Tournament MVP Ovidijus Varanauskas was unstoppable during the event and paced his team in the final with 7 points. The powerful Vitalij Luksa patrolled the paint with 5 points. Giedrius Marciukaitis added 3 points and Darius Tarvydas contributed 2 points, including a memorable dunk.

Trbovlje’s Gasper Ovnik connected three times behind the arc and scored 7 points in a losing effort. His team-mate, former number one 3x3 player in the world Simon Finzgar added 6.

The top scorer in a packed Place Centrale, in the heart of the Olympic capital, was showman Michael Hicks from Team Gdansk (POL). The US-born sharpshooter tallied a season-high 53 points in just 4 games. Hicks justified his ‘Money in the Bank’ nickname by winning the Head & Shoulders Shoot-Out Contest.

In the CityCable Dunk Contest, 3-time FIBA 3x3 World Tour dunk champion Rafal ‘Lipek’ Lipinski from Poland brought the house down after a series of jams that included a 360 between the legs and a dunk over the 1.96m Hicks and four cheerleaders.

Vilnius took home the US $10,000 winning prize while Trbovlje won US $4,000. Both teams qualified for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final, which is hosted in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on 15-16 October, where they join Novi Sad Al Wahda (UAE), Manila North (PHI), Kranj (SLO), Kolobrzeg (POL), Doha (QAT) and Ljubljana (SLO).
