Abidjan, Ivory Coast, July 15, 2015 - A Volleyball Cooperation Programme (VCP) Refereeing Course was held in Abidjan from May 17-21 under the supervision of FIVB Instructor Mr Jouad Berrada from Morocco. There were 28 participants, including 18 men and 10 women.
There is a shortage of referees in Ivory Coast, which features men's and women's championships, as well as different regional and age group leagues. In recent years, the focus has been on training coaches and referees, but there is also a need to develop the sport's infrastructures, including indoor courts.
The course covered the rules of refereeing, combining theory with practice.
