Gaborone, Botswana, July 8, 2015 – The national federation of Botswana held a Level I Coaches Course under the FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme (VCP), which was conducted by FIVB instructor Mr Alemayehu Shoatatek Kassenge from Ethiopia.
The national federation showed great enthusiasm, which in turn, resulted to an excellently organised activity.
During the course, the national federation made sure that key people would participate in the activities. The participants are the backbone of Botswana volleyball development, which are inspired, motivated and involved in youth projects of the federation. Some of these participants are active players in clubs and the rest are teachers in various schools.

Botswana can boast that volleyball is the No. 1 ranked sport in the country, and the continuous efforts of the federation helps more in growing the game. Their men’s and women’s national teams have qualified for the All-Africa Games from Zone 6 countries.
Botswana still aims for a more long-term benefit to the organisation and to its players by promoting youth participation into the continental competitions; develop more coaches to enhance our national development plans and projects. In the long run, this will improve their national teams’ ranking in Africa, and on a larger scale, this will keep the country to be adept with CAVB and FIVB on opportunities in volleyball development.
