The Sierra Leonean pair, Patrick Lombi and Abu Bakara Kamara who were both ranked in eight position in the continental log prior to the all African Games in Congo Brazzaville climbed up after an impressive display in the Games which increased their standing.
The team was defeated by Angola in the quarter finals match by 2 sets to 1 in favor of Angola. Meanwhile, the female team now ranked 10th out of 19th countries in Africa despite their losing three matches secured a victory in the African games.
In cycling, Sierra Leonean cyclists; Mahmoud Keita and and Hilary Gerber finished 43rd and 45th positions in their individual time trials. Keita finsiehd 43rd out of 45th with a time of 20:25 whilst Gerber fininshed 45th out of 45th with a time of 20:44.
However, the Sierra Leonean cyclist didn’t compete in the team time trial because they only presented three cyclist and according to the international rules, a team should comprise of four cyclists.
