It’s not been an easy path to the top in 2015 for Serena Williams as she seeks to complete the perfect year by winning all four major grand slam in a single season. Having won all three Grand Slams from the Australian to the French Open and Wimbledon, the only remaining trophy in 2015 is the US open and her journey to the title will not be any easier as she had to battle older sister Venus in the quarter finals.
In a three sets showdown Serena had to dig deep to prevail over Venus winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-3 to move on to the semi finals. Serena will now have a chance at making history as the only other woman athlete besides Steffi Graf of Germany who pulled off the feat back in 1988 winning all four grand slam in a calendar year.
