With Columbus Crew SC forward Kei Kamara (22 goals, eight assists) set to miss Crew SC’s regular season finale due to yellow card accumulation, Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco (22 goals, 15 assists) is the favorite to take home the Audi Golden Boot for most goals scored in MLS this season. Toronto FC (15-14-4, 49 points, East #4) travels to a sold-out Stade Saputo to take on rival Montreal Impact (14-13-6, 48 points, East #5) this Sunday at 5 p.m. ET (TSN2, TSN4, TSN5). In two games against the Impact this season, Giovinco has scored a goal and distributed two assists. The MVP candidate has had a record-breaking year, which includes a return to the Italian National Team, in addition to breaking the MLS all-time single-season combined goals and assists record (37) and becoming the first MLS player to record at least 20 goals and 10 assists (let alone 15 helpers) in a season.
LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane, who is third in the Golden Boot standings with 19 goals, will go up against Sporting KC on #DecisionDay (ESPN, 7 p.m. ET) and will need to improve on his record of one goal in three career games against SKC if he has any hope of taking home the scoring title.
