Thirty-seven (37) players were nominated for the African Player of the Year 2015 before the list was pruned to 10 followings votes from the members of the CAF Media, Development and Technical Committees.
For the Player of the Year (Based in Africa), 24 players were nominated before the final 10 was decided just as for the above category.

The eventual winner in both categories will be decided by votes of the Coaches or Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF.
