BRAZZAVILLE (AfroBasket Women 2015) - As the 2015 All-African Games enter the final stages, both Nigeria and Senegal remain the only undefeated teams in the women's basketball event in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.

With just 10 days to go until AfroBasket Women 2015 tips off in Yaounde, Cameroon, the Nigerians lived up to aspirations as title contenders by holding off Cameroon 77-64 in Sunday's Group A action.

Nigeria playmaker Sarah Ogoke, who is expected to feature in Cameroon, took notice of how competitive the 12-team event in Yaounde could become.

It was Nigeria's second significant victory over a heavy weight opponent after beating Mali earlier in the week.

The result is a good indication of the run of form for Scott Nnija's team, as they top the group with three wins in as many games. Mali and Cameroon rank second with a 2-1 mark each, while Mozambique (1-3) and hosts Congo (0-3) come bottom of the group.

In Group B, Senegal were too strong for African reigning champions Angola.

In their second meeting since the Semi-Final of AfroBasket Women 2013, the Western Africans outplayed the Angolans to seal a 63-52 victory.

Despite the defeat, Angola still lead Group B as result of their 3-1 mark, while Senegal comes second with a 3-0 record.

Cote d'Ivoire, who failed to qualify for this year's African Championship, have won two of their three games, while Algeria and Gabon have conceded three defeats in as many games.

Meanwhile, Uganda - who will make their AfroBasket Women in Yaounde - have withdrawn from the All-African games due to funding issues.

Both Angola and Senegal will face each other again in Yaounde as part of their AfroBasket Women 2015 Group B campaign.

Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon and Angola head to the continent's biggest women's basketball event as the frontrunners to secure the only spot on offer for African teams for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
