Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Chief Executive Officer, Suzgo Nyirenda said the international friendly which was scheduled to take place on 3 October in Kampala might not take place because Malawi will not be able to raise a full squad.
His latest position sharply contradict his earlier statement in which he said Malawi would use local based players for the game after Uganda FA had given a nod to Malawi request.
Malawi will play Tanzania on 7th October away in 2018 World Cup qualifier and decided to play the international friendly match against Uganda four days before the competitive match.
Media reports in the local media indicates that Malawi FA might have a change of the heart to use locally based players because it has planned to pitch a camp in Uganda before travelling to Tanzania.
Meanwhile, the Malawi FA has reshuffled the Flames technical panel by firing Phillip Nyasulu and replaced him with Swadick Sanudi.
