The tournament which is expected to bring together a total of 16 member countries in the region will officially kick-off on Thursday November 5th and run till the 11th in the Senegalese Capital, Dakar.
With other countries already making their way to Dakar, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Head of media, Abu Bakar Kamara told African Sports TV that the home based squad will not be competing due to lack of funds.
Sierra Leone was grouped alongside tournament host Senegal, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali and Mauritania in group one whilst group two includes; Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, Togo and Nigeria
Sierra Leone last participated in the said tournament in 2013 but were eliminated in the first phase of the tournament in Ghana.
