01 October 2015 – Striker Thembi Kgatlana has been released from the Banyana Banyana camp due to a troublesome calf muscle injury.
South African U20 Women’s National Team (Basetsana) striker Linda Motlhalo from the High Performance Centre (HPC) in Pretoria has been drafted in as Kgatlana’s replacement.
The Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana face Equatorial Guinea in a 2016 Rio Olympic qualifier on Saturday, 3 October 2015 at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.
Motlhalo was part of the U20 squad that held Zambia to a goalless draw last weekend (Sunday, 27 September) in Lusaka in a 2016 Papua New Guinea U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier.
She has already arrived in camp and will be training with the squad this afternoon (Thursday, 1 October) at Nike Football Training Centre in Pimville, Soweto along with USA-based Jermaine Seoposenwe who landed in South Africa on Wednesday evening (30 September).
Defender Kelso Peskin, who is also based in the USA, is yet to arrive.
