The Esperance forward scored the winner six minutes from time to hand the Olympic Carthage Eagles a perfect start at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations underway in Senegal. Earlier, Ronald Kampamba had cancelled Jouini’s fourth minute opener with a spectacular long shot just around the centre mark.
The Chipolopolo failed to salvage some pride for the Southern African representatives, going down after just four minutes, as Jouini soared above his markers to head home from a corner.
The lead won’t last long and Kampamba drew level on the quarter-hour mark with a shot from the centre after spotting Tunisia goalie Sabri Ben Has off his line.
Tunisia had the better of exchanges in the second half and Zambian shot stopper Toaster Nsabata denied Jouini on a one-on-one situation by coming off his line.
On 78 minutes, the Chipolopolo had their best chance of the second half but substitute Friday Samu headed wide from close range.
Six minutes from time, Jouini made victory certain with a cool header from a Saad Bguir cross from the left.
